My favorite fishing setup for coarse fishing includes a 10-12 foot float rod paired with a fixed spool reel. I prefer using a 4-6lb mainline with a 3-4lb hooklength. For bait, I like to use a combination of maggots, worms, and sweetcorn. I also enjoy using a waggler float or a method feeder to target different species of coarse fish. **

The exact origin of fishing is difficult to pinpoint, as it likely developed independently in various cultures around the world. However, evidence of fishing dates back to at least 40,000 years ago, with early humans using rudimentary tools to catch fish. Over time, different societies and civilizations developed their own techniques and equipment for fishing, contributing to its widespread practice. Therefore, it is more accurate to say that fishing was invented and developed by many different cultures over thousands of years rather than attributing it to a single individual or group. **

A braided fishing line is typically recommended for sitting fishing for zander. Braided lines have low stretch, high sensitivity, and excellent strength, making them ideal for detecting subtle bites and setting the hook quickly. Additionally, braided lines have a thinner diameter compared to monofilament lines, allowing for better casting distance and less visibility in the water. Overall, a braided fishing line would be a suitable choice for sitting fishing for zander. **

When fishing for pike, it is recommended to use a dark-colored fishing line, such as dark green, dark brown, or black. These colors blend well with the water and vegetation where pike are commonly found, making the line less visible to the fish. Additionally, dark-colored lines are less likely to spook the pike, increasing your chances of a successful catch. **
